Your Magia Exedra kioku are what you will be bringing into combat. There are various ways to make them powerful so they’re more capable.
A few key notes:
- Kiokus come in three rarities – 3-star, 4-star, and 5-star. 3-star Kioku do not have a Special Skill.
- Each Kioku has one element – Flame, Aqua, Forest, Light, Dark, or Void.
- Each Kioku will have a dedicated role for battle – Attacker, Breaker, Healer, Buffer, Debuffer, or Defender.
To upgrade your Kioku, go to Party > Training from the bottom of the home page. You will then see a list of all Kioku you have. You can filter who you see (by rarity, element, role, etc) by using the filter cone button to the left of “Lvl.” Tapping on “Lvl.” will allow you to sort the list in a specific order (obatined, rarity, role, etc).
Level
When you tap on a Magia Exedra Kioku you want to upgrade, you’ll notice some key information – their rarity, name, role, element, and their current stats (tap the ellipses “…” to the right of Stats for the full list) and power number.
For example, this Kioku is Soul Salvation – Ren Isuzu, a 5* Void element Debuffer.
Below the details tab you will see their current level and the max level they can be raised to. In this instance, Ren is currently at level 23, but the max level she can be upgraded to is 26. The max level your Kioku can be upgraded to is dependent on your player level. Your player level is raised by engaging in most quests, which will give you XP to raise your player level.
It is important to level the Kioku as it will raise the Magic Level cap and also greatly increase 3 of the Kioku’s stats (HP, ATK, and DEF).
To upgrade the Kioku level, you will need an item titled Growth Enhancement. These can be acquired via Kioku Upgrade Quests, which you can embark on via Quests>Upgrade>Kioku from the bottom of the home page screen.
Magic Level
Pressing the + sign next to “Magic Lvl.” will allow you to upgrade a Kioku’s Magic Level. The Magic Level will greatly increase various stats for the Kioku and also upgrade the power of a Kioku’s combat skills: battle skill, basic attack, ability, and support ability.
The items you will need for all Kioku are Prism Stones. You will also need specific element related stones depending on the element of the Kioku. In Ren’s case, she will need Void Stones. You can acquire stones via Quests>Upgrade>Magic Unlock from the bottom of the home page screen.
Ascension
The ascension level of a Kioku is dependent on acquiring copies of the Kioku, which is usually done via the gacha. There will also be varying log in and gameplay events as well. But for the most part, it’s dependent on the gacha banners. Ascension levels are automatically applied when you gain a copy of a Kioku, so you don’t need to do anything.
Ascension levels are maxed out at 5, so you will need 6 copies of a Kioku in total for full ascension.
Special Attack Level
The special attack is considered the “ultimate” ability in combat for your Kioku. Please note that only 4-star and 5-star Kioku will have special attacks available. Keep in mind that to fully max your special attack, you need to have your Kioku to Magic Level 5.
You will need 3 items to level the special attack – Magia Scroll, Magia Codex, and Magia Griomoire. These items are not farmable. You will acquire them via Shop>Trader, usually through event shops and the medal shops.
Heartphial Level
Raising a Heartphial level will give you various stats, as well as access to new story episodes and a unique portrait, for one magical girl and all Magia Exedra Kioku associated with them. So to emphasize this point, raising the Heartphial level is for all Kioku of one magical girl.
For example, I currently have two versions of Madoka Kaname – Lux☆Magica and Pluvia☆Magica. The Heartphial level stat bonuses will apply to both of these Kioku of Madoka Kaname.
You can upgrade a magical girl’s Heartphial level via Quests>Heartphial Quests. From the bottom left, you press “Assign” and set up the party of the Kioku that you want to upgrade. You will have 5 tries a day for the quests.
The button the to right of Assign, Level List, will show the list of magical girls available, as well as their level and what you can gain from each level when pressing “Details”.
